What is the ChangeTheWorld campaign? What are you trying to do?
The ChangeTheWorld - Ontario Youth Volunteer Challenge is an annual campaign for youth aged 14 to 18 to volunteer a minimum of three hours. For 2015, the campaign runs for 6 weeks and kicks-off on National Volunteer Week (April 12 to 18) through to May 24.
If I’m outside the ages 14 to 18, can I still participate?
Through the OVCN, we always promote volunteerism. Unfortunately, your hours won’t be counted towards the campaign, but you WILL gain tremendous benefit of having made a difference in your community!
I don’t have a volunteer centre that covers my area. What do I do?
Contact the OVCN directly. We can help guide you through the process and help you find or create opportunities in your area.
Check out the rest of our website. It offers everything you need to get started.
Think about how you want to volunteer. What are you passionate about? Build your own volunteer opportunity around your passion.
"Follow us" on Twitter @OVCNyouth and "Like us" on Facebook at OVCNyouth. We post volunteer opportunities from all across Ontario. We also want to connect and see how you are doing. Tell us your passion and tweet or post a picture of you taking the Challenge. Remember to use our hashtag #CTWyouth on Twitter.
Can I stay involved after the campaign?
Absolutely! That’s why this campaign was created. We want you to find something you love and make a long lasting impact. If you find something you like, why not stay with it? Volunteering is a great way to build up new skills and make new friends. You never know where it will take you.
I don’t know what I’m interested in…
We can help! Get in touch with your area volunteer centre or contact us at the OVCN to guide you through the process. Together, we will find your passion!
